Dear Gabi, We are about to set sail for Shanghai but I wanted to email and express what a phenomenal time we had yesterday with Claudia. She is such a delight!! Friendly, fun and SO knowledgeable about Hong Kong. She took us places we would never have found on our own or on one of those mass tours. She constantly consulted with us on what we would do with our day as she clearly wanted to tailor it to our wishes and needs. She went above and beyond the typical tour host getting us a reservation for tea at the Peninsula Hotel today, preparing our itinerary for today when we were on our own and making sure we had an evening plan and our bearings before she left us last night. We feel like we have made a new friend in Hong Kong and you are most fortunate to have her as a part of your staff. Please send me a link to Trip Advisor and I will be happy to write a glowing review. More importantly, please pass on to Claudia how much we enjoyed our day with her and how much we appreciated her taking such great care of us!! Thanks for an unforgettable time in your marvelous city. With sincere regards, Janet Staton, Private City Walk, Nov 2016
Okt 2016
Hi Gabi We really enjoyed our walk. Martin is an excellent guide and we will recommend your company to friends visiting HK. Regards Anne, Heritage Oct 2016
“Perfect Get-away from HK Hustle-bustle” - Who would've thought there's such a great hiking trail in the back yard of The densest steel jungle in the world? This is an absolutely must-do when you visit HK!, Boon, Dragon’s Back Hike, Sept 2016
“Einmalige Aussicht die man sich nicht entgehen lassen sollte” Es hat uns sehr gut gefallen, obwohl wir einen sehr schwülen Tag hatten und der Aufstieg nicht gerade ohne war. Die Aussicht hat den anstrengenden Weg total entlohnt. Hinzu kam das unsere Begleitperson Claudia uns echt tolle Informationen Rund um das Land und Leute gegeben hat. Grüße Darius und Anne-Marie, Dragon’s Back Hike, Sept 2016
Hello Gabi, Just want to tell you that Martin was a great Guide! He was patient, smart and explained lots of details. It was a pleasure joining almost half a day with him. Walter Blankenberg, Heritage Walk, Sept 2016
Hi Gabi We had a great day on the Dragon's Back walk with Claudia today. She arranged the weather extremely well and we appreciated her advice about where to go on HK Island after we finished the trip. It was also great to catch the tram and the bus and train all as part of the tour. Thanks again for accommodating us. Regards, Ann and John Dragon’s Back August 2016
I just wanted you to know that we visited Sai Wan cemetery today and with some adventures made it to Stanley to their cemetery. The tour of the battle sites will have to stay as something I will do when I come and it isn't 36 above and I have someone from your company to help. the visits were very moving and my husband and I are very glad we made this special effort. Your email helped give me the courage to make this happen so thank you for your help. we had hoped to do more, but oh my it was hot today. I hoe more people take advantage of your history walk, this stuff is important. Thanks again. Patti Bligh, July 2016
Good morning Gabi and Martin, Our holiday to HK is now finished and we returned to Australia on Sunday. Cathy and I just wanted to thank each of you for the wonderful and informative tours. We very much enjoyed learning about the heritage of HK and wandering through the back streets. After the Monday tour, Cathy and I spent another four hours in these streets, enjoying the sights, sounds and smell of Asia. The highlight tour was the defence of HK tour by Martin. We felt very privileged to have Martin to ourselves on the Tuesday, walking the vital ground for the defence of the island. Concluding the tour at Brigadier Lawson’s HQ was a solemn finish to a great morning. Terry and Cathy, May 2016
Hi, Now that I'm back from my trip, I wanted to send my thanks for the three great tours. Susan was amazing, and it was privilege to have her all to ourselves. Anne, April 2016
Many thanks to Martin Heyes for a great day out yesterday. Martin did an excellent job of looking after us and imparting his fantastic depth of knowledge on the subject. Please pass on our sincere thanks to Martin for a job very well done. Best regards, Gary and Jane Thomas. March 2016
Dear Gabi, I wrote a review on trip advisor today. I just wanted to give you some personal feedback however. I had a wonderful time with Claudia on the dragon's back hike. She is truly a natural, she has some great stories, but also very knowledgeable about Hong Kong. It's going on tours like this that make me want to travel more often. I really appreciate that you also were so quick on the email to reschedule me despite my sleep in! I will certainly be recommending you to my friends and family and hope I can visit again soon. Kind Regards, Sharmani, March 2016
Hi Gabi, I just wanted to let you know how much we enjoyed our time with Stephanie and Claudia. They're both so knowledgable and fun, it really enhanced our visit to the city. Thanks, Anne, Feb 2016
Tolle Tour!
Just to say we all thoroughly enjoyed our tour with Martin. The information we got from him on the bus going to the walk was really good too. The walk itself and the information he gave us was excellent. I think that the number of questions that he was asked showed that there was a general interest in the battle that took place all these years ago. We were also pleased that we visited HK at this time of year and not in the very warm and humid period. We were all quite hot and sweaty during the walk and it must be terrible in the high summer time. If any friends or family were going to HK and were interested in tours that your company offer I would have no hesitation in recommending your company. Regards, Neil Millar, WW2 Walk, Oct 2015
Aloha, I had a great time. The walks were all fine, and the weather was good. Stephanie and Martin definitely know their stuff. My money was well spent and I will gladly tell my friends about the good time I had. Many thanks to you and your company. Ron Akemoto, April 2015
Hi Gabi. Back in Scotland today and just wanted to pass on my thanks to you and the Team for making my first afternoon in Hong Kong a really good experience. Many thanks to both Martin and Jasmine who were fantastic in passing on some great info. It made the rest of my brief stay in your wonderful city all the more enjoyable. A great service with great people genuinely interested in whats on their doorstep, keep up the fantastic work. Kind regards, Kenny – Jan 2015
Gabi. We had a wonderful time in HK. We have talked many times in the last two days about what we saw and did, always positive. I'll be sure to post a positive review of you on Trip Advisor when I have returned to my senses. Our walks were diverse in nature. Our guides educational, warm, funny and encouraging. We saw areas we surely didn't even begin to imagine when we booked our trips. With all we saw and did we know we didn't begin to touch what is available to see and do in HK. You opened the door for us, we walked through and learned, enjoyed our guides and laughed along the way. Made up for the sore feet! See you next time, lots more to see and do! Most sincerely, Kathryn and Klay. PS. Please extend our thanks and compliments to everyone! Oct 2014
Hi Stephanie, I had a great time today hiking with you and enjoying the pleasure of your company. Thanks for a wonderful time. Best of luck in all your future endeavors and I hope that our paths cross again. A bientot! John November 2014
Hi Gabi, Thanks so much for a fabulous day out on the Dragon's Back today, it was really great to get out of the city and see the nature in this part of the world, and we all loved it. If we ever come back to HK we'll definitely be booking with you again :-) James, Scott & Lorraine, April 2014
Hi Gabi, I have now arrived back in Sydney after spending a few fabulous days in Hong Kong and Macau. I wanted to say "Thank You" and for you to pass on my appreciation to Susan for the wonderful day on the Deserted Beaches Walk on Good Friday. I saw a side of Hong Kong which is often missed by the usual tourist. I had a wonderful day and thoroughly enjoyed the company of the other walkers. Warm regards, Jill Forrester. April 2014
Dear Martin, Thank you again for the wonderful walking tour of Wong Nai Chung Gap on Saturday, and for sharing with us your extensive knowledge of the battles which took place there during WW2 – as well as events leading up to and post these battles. We thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon and learnt so much from you. We also greatly appreciate the amount of time you gave us. It made Julian’s birthday! Thanks again, Lauren and Julian, April 2014
I have just returned from a business trip to Hong Kong. During the little spare time I had I went on a half day battlefield tour arranged for me by Walk Hong Kong. Among the many historic and cultural walks they organise are two connected with the campaign of December 1941. One (that I went on) covers the battlefield on the mainland, particularly the Shing Mun Redoubt, and the other deals with the defence and fall of Hong Kong Island. Much of the Shing Mun Redoubt (part of the 'Gin Drinkers Line') remains intact and comprises pill boxes, tunnels, observation posts and a command post. Some is in the jungle, some easily accessible from the Maclehose Hiking Trail. My guide was Martin Heyes whose knowledge of the whole campaign, and the Redoubt, is encyclopaedic. He is an excellent guide. Martin is very interested in the Guild and will, I feel sure, join soon. Walk Hong Kong and their battlefield tours are highly recommended if you have the opportunity." Duncan Barnes, December 2013
Dear Martin. Thank you for your time today. I really enjoyed the walk through "history" and your detailed explanation of events affecting HK over this time. I'm afraid it was "information over-load" but I'd rather have it that way, and will probably make an arrangement to do it again with your repeated input so I could join more of the dots!. Anyway, sincere thanks and we'll keep in touch. Best regards Chris Watts Dec 2013
Dear Gabi and Susan. Hope that this email finds you well. Time flies fast when you have a lot of fun. As we are packing our luggage, we thought of our wonderful experience on the Dragon's Trail and would like to thank Susan for being such a lovely guide. Susan, you have shared with us so much information and made the walk enjoyable for us. Thank you so much. We kept that leaf and found that it became a sandpaper. :) Take care and see you again! Warmest regards, Ying Liang and Lin, December 2013
Hi Gabi, I wanted to tell you how much I enjoyed meeting you and spending the day with you in Hong Kong. Thank you again for a memorable tour. Wishing you and your family the very best and I hope our paths cross again some day! Sally – Private Tour for Photography, Nov 2013
Dear Gabi, the tour was great, I enjoyed very much, thank you! Deserted Beaches, November 2013
"Thank you Martin for today. My friends have information and memories they shall fondly remember because of your wonderful input. See you next year. Thanx. Gina." Dragon's Back Hike, October 2013
Hi Gabi. Just wanted to let you know that I really enjoyed both tours. Both very different and gave me an excellent exposure to HK during the short time I was there. If I get back there I will sign up for more tours with your group. Thanks, Fred. Dragon's Back Hike and Kowloon Markets October 2013
If you're only in Hong Kong for a few days and want to see how the real Hong Kong people live, take this tour. Martin did a great job leading us on the metro to these out of the way markets. Adding in his knowledge of history it was a real "learning experience". Excellent tour. Kowloon Markets Walk, October 2013
Hello, We had a wonderful tour yesterday! We learned so much. Many thanks to Martin, who was a terrific tour guide! Warm wishes, Rebecca, October 2013
Hi Gabi Pat and I both enjoyed our Ma On Shan walk and in this was in no small part due to you. While the scenery and the challenge of a walk are important ingredients it is the company that can make a walk truly memorable. Ma On Shan Hike, Sept 2013
Dragon’s Back Hike, September 2013
Just a little note to ask you to please pass on my thanks to Martin for the heritage walk yesterday. It was a very enjoyable and informative day and Martin is a great tour guide! Best wishes to all of you, Regards, Geraldine, Hong Kong Heritage Walk, Sept. 2013
Just wanted to send through our thanks for the walk. Martin was exceptional – we really enjoyed his knowledge of, and passion for, Hong Kong. We learnt more about Hong Kong in 4 hours than we could have by ourselves in a month.
We’ll definitely be back for more.
Fulton, Hong Kong Heritage Walk, Aug 2013
Danke, Susan. Lamma Island Hike, June 2013
Despite the rough weather, I had a fabulous time today. I look forward to hiking again with your organization next time I am in HK. Regards, Mark C. Dragon's Back, May 2013
Martin, Thank you for being an excellent and knowledgeable tour guide! Take care, Adeline, Dragon's Back, May 2013
Hi Martin Just a quick line to say how much we both enjoyed your guiding on our recent visit to HK. It certainly immersed us into the whole escapade and re reading Lindsay’s book afterwards has been very interesting since we walked the course. We thoroughly enjoyed the new HK Museum. And one of us has returned to a freezing Britain! Kind rgds, Eddie WW2 Walk, March 2013
Hi The walk on Saturday was great. I’ll be recommending Martin as a guide to a friend who is visiting in a few weeks. Thanks again, Rebecca, Hong Kong Heritage Walk
Hi Martin! Lauren Cheong from Singapore here. We went for your walk on the 18th of March. I was part of the group where there were 7 singaporeans and you were saying that it is such a coincidence to have a group all from the same country but us not knowing each other. I just wanted to thank you for the tour and showing us the beautiful formations! Take care! Best regards, Lauren Geopark Hiking Tour
Kowloon Markets, January 2013
"Thanks for an interesting day. A lot of facts, names and dates. Not sure it all sunk into my brain, but I have come away with the basics of what happened on those fateful days and I owe that to you. Thank you." Dave, December 2012, Wong Ngai Chung Gap Walk
"I hope all is well down in Hong Kong. I just wanted to say thank you for taking the time to meet and also for allowing me to join the Dragon’s Back hike. I really enjoyed it – as you know, the weather was pretty awful that weekend, but as we came down there were some fantastic views over Shek O. Martin was great – very informative and helpful.' Best Regards, Sam, November 2012
"Un petit halte de quelques jour à HK fin septembre. Découvrir une ville à pieds est tellement agréable, mais difficile lorsque l'on ne maitrise pas le mandarin et la culture chinoise......Quelques sites de voyage proposent ce type de découverte, mais la nous avons trouvé le top..... Un grand merci à STEPHANIE pour sa gentillesse et sa grande connaissance de HK qu'elle a su nous faire partager.' 31 octobre 2012
"Hi guys, Some time ago you may remember dragging an old fellow along on a wonderful walk along the coast of Hong Kong. Photos attached to jog your memory. Despite my struggles with the heat i thought the walk and the company was delightful and we did another shorter walk on the way back to NZ which has continued to stimulate our interest in walking in the national parks in HK. Thanks Stephanie for a great day out.
We had a relaxing 3 days walking in Paris and then did 2 weeks in Namibia, a country I would recommend to anyone who loves the outdoors and spectacular geography. This was followed by 9 days in a very wet and cold UK catching up with family and friends and then back to winter in NZ with two days in HK on the way back.
David Diskin's walk was good, lovely forest and a range of wildlife including a small mock viper on the path. Our regards to you both. Bob & Jen Pomeroy. Tai Po Kau Forest Walk
Hello Stephanie, I enjoyed your company on this mornings hike and your insights on HK life and history. I wish you and your family lots of happy time here in HK. We are off to Guilin tomorrow morning and I am looking forward to more exploring. Best regards Catherine
"Nous tenions a vous remercier vivement pour tous les paysages, endroits typiques ... que vous nous avez fait découvrir et explications , les enfants qui venaient pour la première fois en Asie ont été enchantés. encore mille mercis , Amicalement Catherine, Jean Lou, Alexandra et Jérome;"
John "Many thanks for a wonderful days birding ,we really enjoyed it, notwithstanding the heat we survived ok and saw a great number of birds with your expert knowledge and spotting skills...." Phil and Marion, Kent, England (May 2012)
Jackie, I just wanted to say that Susan Braun was simply superb. Her enthusiasm for all things local is infectious and I had a fantastic afternoon with her. Thanks again Priya
Hi Martin, We both enjoyed the tour a great deal and talked about it until my dad left saturday. He especially loved it and I think it made his trip to HK especially memorable. Thank you. I look forward to his next visit and planning the wong nai chung gap walk with you.
Marco Foehn´s tour of Central gave us a completely new understanding of the structures and places around us. He gave us an insight into the history behind and the purpose of what we could see but had not taken in so far. He has a vast kowledge and can answer any questions you might still have after his stimulating and entertaining explanations. His tours are so memorable because he can instill his enthusiasm and fascination of Hong Kong and the countryside into the participants of his tours. If you have lived here for years or are a tourist/vistor Marco´s tours are an experience not to be missed!
This is just thank Susan Braun for friendly and generous help as a guide to Anne and me for the tour which she gave us this afternoon. We saw much of the real Hong Kong which we would have not otherwise have seen. Thanking you once again Tim and Anne, Kowloon Markets Walk
In the middle of last year we decided to visit Hong Kong for a few days on the way home to Australia from England. Once we discovered Mai Po Marshes existed, the task was to work out how to visit. The Walk Hong Kong website was the answer. We wished to combine a day of mainly birding but with some culture while in the New Territories. Our first of many emails outlining our requirements was quickly responded to by Roger Muscroft. Roger advised that he may not be our guide on the day, but Walk Hong Kong would provide a suitable guide. David Diskin was nominated as our guide and we quickly settled into sorting out the details. Because of the tide time, David readily agreed to an earlier than normal start and arranged for early access to the site and all the necessary permits. Early this year, to our dismay, we discovered that the Public Holiday for Ching Ming Festival was a day earlier than usual because of 2012 being a leap year. We had tried to avoid the Public Holiday. Yet another email to David to see if we could change the day to 5 rather than 4 April. A few days later back came the email, all fixed, permits and early start still OK for 5 April. On the day we met David as arranged. He drove us to Mai Po from University Station and we knew very quickly that we were in good hands. David’s bird knowledge and site knowledge were both excellent and after about 15 minutes we knew we were in for a treat. Our day at Mai Po will go down as one of our birding highlights in nearly 40 years of birding. Without David’s help we would have been floundering, having trouble in identifying the birds, knowing where to go and at what time. Our late afternoon plans were literally dampened by very heavy rain, but David managed to drive us to several sites, and park just outside so we could do some sightseeing. In all, a sterling effort by David and Walk Hong Kong. If we return to Hong Kong, we will definitely be in touch. Yours sincerely, Shirley & Bill, Birding Tour
Jackie, Greetings from Denmark. I wanted to thank you again for the very interesting Feng Shui and Temple tour this Saturday. Your impressive knowledge and experienced story telling abilities helped us all get a better understanding of the complex Hong Kong culture and society, and I know that all 16 of my fellow M.Sc. students found it a great addition to our study trip! Thank you, and hope to see you again some day! Jonas Christensen, Temple & Feng Shui Tour
Hi Stephanie, Dot and I would like to thank you for the three great tours we had with you. We learnt so much. We will tell all our friends and will surely see you again when we visit next time. cheers, Judy Newman I'm back in Singapore! Thank you so much for the lovely hike on Dragon's Back yesterday and sharing so much information and history with us. I miss the scenery and beauty of the place already. Yes I'll be back again, soon I hope. Karen Lim, Singapore
Thank you again for a great day. You'll be a highly recommended tour guide for us. David Taggart U.S.A., Private Tour
So glad I made it to the hike. I really enjoyed it. Gabi was fantastic. Michelle Hong Kong, Deserted Beaches
Hi Susan- Thank you so much for a wonderful guided tour of Lamma island. I can't say enough of how wonderful the day was. First of all, I couldn't believe there were just two of us with you, it made it such an intimate tour. I enjoyed going down to Aberdeen and taking the ferry across. The views on the hike were amazing, I'm really glad we took the higher route. I also appreciated your knowledge of the vegetation of the area, and the culture of the villages. I also wanted to thank you and Kearsten (our other traveler), I know you both were probably much more comfortable to speak German, but you really made the effort to speak English, so I always felt involved. The lunch was fabulous and I enjoyed my afternoon treat of tofu-fun with ginger syrup, I just wish I could find that here in Boston. Also- I did buy some ping on ointment before I left, and it had done miracles for my leg cramps! thanks so much! Thank you for making my last day in Hong Kong, one of the most memorable. I will definitely tell my friends here in the states about Walk Hong Kong and how great the tours are. Thanks again Jean from Boston.
Hi Martin, I'm finally back in the UK after a fantastic visit to Hong Kong! I'd like to thank you profusely for your highly informative and exhaustively planned tour of the Shing Mun Redoubt. I've been boring people rigid this last few days with details of the walk. Anyway, I had a fascinating time in the most wonderful company and I do hope to return to Hong Kong again sometime soon! With kind regards, Paul UK, Shing Mun Redoubt Walk
Dear Marco I particularly requested a 1 to 1 walk having covered the most obvious aspects on previous visits: I have an interest in the history post 1850 and spent a most enjoyable morning with Marco looking at and discussing some of the lesser known historical gems of Hong Kong. His ability to tailor our walk to meet my wishes coupled with a very detailed knowledge of the history, architecture etc was much appreciated. KHB Private Tour
"G'day" Jackie, We've now arrived home and my most vivid memory of our trip is the Photographic Day spent with you at Sai Kung Park. How you brought the area to life with your local knowledge and interesting stories. I valued the day of learning more about my camera - your teaching style was just great, and thank you for your patience and encouragement. It was good being able to take the time to stop and practise along the way. You would be impressed by the amount of experimenting I've been doing - it all helps to build confidence with the camera. Jackie, thank you so much for a fantastic day and I would not hesitate to recommend your tour to any keen photographer. Best wishes, Heather Kelly Austrailia - Photography Tour
Roger We really enjoyed our day with Roger we felt very indulged with our private guide! We appreciated the social history, environmental aspect, the human interaction with the physical environment (farming), the personal account as well as the birding of Hong Kong provided by Roger. It has been an excellent way to learn about a major city. Have a great day. Cheers Sarah & Kate, Australia, Birdwatching
Hello John, Thank you for some very enjoyable scouting and birding in HK. The group enjoyed their time and their HK birds very much. I have been fortunate to have a great, positive group to hang out with and that this trip has allowed me so many days of birding, in what was originally going to be a culture only tour! For me personally it was great to return to HK, to meet Geoff, Paul, you and Roger, and to re-familiarize with many southern species. I hope that there will be a chance to go birding together again in the future. I hope that Mai Po will re-open soon and that you will enjoy a pleasant spring of photography and birding. Best wishes, Dr Mark A. Brazil Author, Consultant, Naturalist and Lecturer - Mark Brazil website Birdwatching
Jackie What a fantastic day!!!! It is great to have a guide that is so enthusiastic and passionate about where she is and what she does, while at the same time being relaxed and laid back. We got to see a side of Hong Kong that is often overlooked and very under appreciated. And to do it with people who had similar interests added to the experience. For anybody considering this walk, DO IT!! I assure you that you will not be disappointed. Lunch exceeded our expectations. We will certainly be recommending this to our friends and family. Many thanks Jackie. Lamma Island
Marco Thanks for making the walk so interesting. Your knowledge of Hong Kong is amazing! We had a great time and next time we are in Hong Kong we will certainly be in touch. Sue, Nigel and Jess Peak To Aberdeen
John I must just quickly let you know what a very special part of our holiday our morning with you on Friday the 9th April was!! We were so delightfully surprised at the number of first ticks we got on that morning. On the way there Graham was not happy about being dragged out on a walk which would exacerbate his knee condition. However he hardly felt any effects at all and this has confirmed to him that this is a pastime we could enjoy together. I hate watching sport which he is passionate and very knowledgeable about. But we could do bird walks all over the world together thus getting out and about in nature without upsetting his knee!!! The leisurely exercise would do him the world of good. So your morning with us was a good marriage enrichment outing as well as a wonderful birding experience. It has also taught me that it is not only "wild nature" which harbour's the abundance of bird life we experienced in the market gardens. My son's young friends were amazed to learn there were even enough birds left in China and especially Hong Kong to make a walk worthwhile!! We have introduced many people in South Africa and Hong Kong to your websites as well. The highlights for me were the sightings of Asure Asian Magpie and the rare Spoonbill. Thanks for taking us down that track to the gate of the closed Mai Po Wetland. We will definitely try and book a tour with you in that reserve possibly in June or a less humid time next year. Anyway we wish you well in your future birding endeavours. Thanks again. Kind Regards from us both, Kath Australia Birdwatching
Hi Roger I have not replied earlier as I knew you were away - I hope all is well with your family. Thankyou for the bird list, that was an amazing number of birds and I wasn't even counting. I had a fantastic day even if you felt things were low key at Long Valley and Tai Po Kau. You still managed to find birds for me as I chatted away!! The view of the birds from the hides at Mai Po is stunning - it is like being in a different world - a private bird world. Thankyou for your time and effort, I had a fantastic day. Saying to people 'I went bird watching in HK' fails to convey what an amazing experience it is. You are a gem!
Marco was great value on the walk as well which we both thoroughly enjoyed. I think Wes was a bit jealous that I had fitted so much in while he ' worked'. I have to say that I felt like I had this personal one on one experience of HK and managed to fit in and discover much more than the average visitor. It is a great company keep up the fantastic service - I would recommend you all (WHK) in a heartbeat. Fowlers UK Birdwatching / shopping / Dragon's Back hike
Hi Marco, Thank you for this well explained tour, I think, this was one of best guided city tours of my life. Tatjana Hong Kong Heritage Tour
Martin I loved my day out with you so thanks for that and it was nice to learn a little about the history of Stanley rather than just look around the market like most tourists do! I thought the school and chapel were great places to look around with all of that hidden history. I also enjoyed walking around the cemetary as every grave stone has an interesting albeit sad story to tell. It was good also to have a walk through the market and the square with Chinese temple etc. Thanks again for your tour which I did enjoy and I wish you well for the future. If I come back to Hong Kong we might have to do a slightly more challenging walk! Kind regards Richard WW2 Sites
Marco, Thank you so much for the great time yesterday! You were amazing and we were so impressed with your vast knowledge and fervor for Hong Kong culture. You made the first day of our stay in Hong Kong fantastic and memorable. See you for Dragon's Back on Saturday (if we can still walk after the Lamma hike today). Warm regards, Maria and Ted from USA
Christian Bonk, TOURS Magazin
Hi Jackie Just thought I would write briefly to thank you for a great tour around Kowloon markets. The girls had a great time and throughly enjoyed the afternoon, the knowledge, the shopping at the Jade Markets and your very friendly and fun approach. Anyway Jackie a great afternoon, and much appreciated by all 6 involved. And a big thank you for the photography. Take care and many thank. regards Fi Wicks, Australia, Kowloon Markets
Hi Jackie, Thanks for the wonderful walk. 3 weeks after we got back to New Zealand I am still telling friends about it. Can you believe that we were out for 5 1/2 hours including our lovely lunch stop and in that time we only saw 3 people. How can we keep it a secret it is just not what you expect to do in Hong Kong. We feel very privileged to have been able to do this trip with you. Jackie you are amazing with your boundless enthusiasim and knowledge. I am looking forward to coming back and tramping some more in this region. Best wishes Bruce Finnerty Private hike - Pat Sin Leng Range New Territories
What a great hike…Marco, seriously, you’re one of the best tour guides in the world…everyone is gonna be raving about you on TripAdvisor soon, if you were a stock, I’d invest! Thanks again for such a wonderful day–everyone else reading this should look no further. Tim & Daleela USA Deserted Beaches
Martin The tour was really good and Martin is a very nice person and fun. He is willing to share his knowledge + great stories of HK and this is exactly what I was looking for Thank you for the tour, nothing to change of it. I'll come back to you on my next trip to HK ! Emmanuelle HK Heritage tour
Hello Jackie Once again, a HUGE thank you for such a great day hiking Ma On Shan. As usual your local knowledge both contemporary and historical made the hike so pleasurable. The company on the hike was excellent, Merissa, Phil the Tasmanian and of course the energetic Fergus, ( hope you got the paw prints washed out!! ). I must say that you make it feel like a days hiking with a friend rather than a guide, and think thats what makes, for me anyway, Walk Hong Kong so special. ( plus the sugary, treacley slice for lunch was heaven)
Please pass my thanks onto Marco for a great walk on Dragons Back, and also Martin for his exceptional walk on Wong Nai Chong Gap.
Again I have a purposely left some walks, un-walked, and thats purely as an excuse to return to the fantastic area. Thanks for recommending the book by Martin Booth ( Gweilo ) which I went out and bought and could not put down on the flight home, I found it captivating. Thanks again, take care Ian Ma On Shan hike
Marco, the walk was truly enjoyable. Asha and I learnt and experienced so much in a relatively short time. I think that a walking tour with you is a 'must do' for any visitor to Hong Kong! Kowloon Markets
Dear Jackie, just a quick note to thank you for your expertise and hospitality during our recent walks with you in Honk Kong. Not only did you arrange for great weather, but your guidance on both the Peak to Aberdeen trail and Dragon's Back were both first rate. It amazes me that, despite having lived in Hong Kong for over a decade (30 years ago....), I was not aware of the existence of these beautiful and accessible walks. (Your tolerance of my " I remember when.." sessions was also remarkable!). Anne and I also appreciate the time you took to explain the simplicity of various other aspects of Hong Kong life including how to access the MTR! Your professionalism and knowledge were greatly appreciated and we are now firmly intent on walking several legs of the MacLehose trail as well as exploring the outlying islands in the coming year - with you and your team if you will have us! With grateful thanks Tim and Anne Australia
It’s just amazing looking through the images and the photos on the Walk Hong Kong website. As a local HongKonger who has never hiked any of the trails except walking around the 3 km trail on The Peak is, the images looked quite surprising actually - they seem so distant yet so real. I must say, hats off to the tour guides: Jackie, Marco, Martin and the rest of the company, you guys are doing an amazing job at showing people around Hong Kong, even to the Hong Kong I never knew of except for Silvermine Bay, Shek O, Stanley, in and around Hong Kong Island and Kowloon. Although I’ve never joined a tour before, I will definitely do it one day. Thanks guys for contributing so much to Hong Kong! You guys are doing a great job! James Hong Kong.
"Marco, Tack för en skön dag bortom skyskrapor och shopping, nu vet vi att Hong Kong är så väldigt mycket mer än bara storstad. Perfekt med en vandring som startar så nära stan. Och minst lika intressant och spännande var allt du hade att berätta om Hong Kong och hur det är att leva där! Cheers, Jonas & Malin" Dragon's Back
Liels paldies Dekijai (Jackie) par brīnišķīgo pārgājienu pa Honkongas Jaunajām Teritorijām (New Territories). Tas deva iespēju nonākt absolūti citā vidē, ārpus debesskrāpju kastītēm, un pārbaudīt savu fizisko formu, kāpelējot pa akmens pakāpieniem augšup, lejup, baudot interesantos skatus no kalnu galotnēm un aplūkojot vietējo iedzīvotāju spēju izdzīvot vietā, kur ceļš mērojams ar kājām vairākus kilometrus līdz tuvākajai transporta kustībai.
